Vent Ductwork Deep Cleaning

The frequently touched surfaces in your building get cleaned as a matter of routine, but the air supply ductwork that runs through every room and space is easy to overlook. Vent ductwork deep cleaning removes the contamination that builds up inside those ducts and restores a clean, fresh-air supply that is safer for the people using the building.

Why your air supply ductwork needs deep cleaning

Supply ductwork carries air into every occupied space, so anything living or accumulating inside it is distributed throughout the building. Left unattended, ducts collect dust, debris and microbial growth, and can harbour viruses, bacteria and mould within the air ventilation system.

That has two consequences. The air quality delivered to occupants drops, and the system moves air less efficiently as debris builds up. Deep cleaning the internal surfaces addresses both — it removes the contamination and returns the ductwork to a hygienic condition.

Deep cleaning and fogging

Deep cleaning combines mechanical cleaning of the internal duct surfaces with a fogging and disinfection stage. Specialist fogging equipment, used with a hospital-grade biocide (disinfectant), reaches all the internal surface areas within the ductwork — including the runs that manual cleaning cannot easily access.

The result is an air supply system cleaned and disinfected to remove many forms of viruses, bacteria and mould, leaving your building’s fresh air supplies free from that contamination.

Cleaning to a recognised standard

Ventilation hygiene work is measured against BESA TR19, the standard for internal cleanliness of ventilation systems. Clean Ducts is a BESCA Vent Hygiene Associate member, and cleaning to TR19 means the work is carried out to a defined benchmark rather than a subjective idea of clean.

Working to the standard also gives you evidence. The condition of the ductwork before and after the clean is recorded, so you have a documented record of the work and the level of cleanliness achieved.
